We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher to join our team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)

This is a permanent post on Leadership Terms, pay scale L12-L16 £67,898 - £75,049. The role is to start on 1st September 2026.

We are seeking an ambitious and resilient leader to play a key role in the next stage of the school’s improvement journey. Following its recent Ofsted inspection, MEA is entering a period of significant and rapid development.

Main purpose of the role:

  • To support the Headteacher and senior leadership team in securing rapid and sustained school improvement
  • To lead on key areas of school development, driving improvements in teaching, behaviour, attendance, inclusion and pupil outcomes
  • To ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the school, supporting staff development and accountability
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an ambitious, well-sequenced curriculum
  • To play a central role in creating a positive, inclusive and orderly school culture where all pupils can thrive
  • To support the strategic direction of the school in line with the Trust’s vision of an 'Exceptional Education for All'

This role will suit a leader who is ready to take the next step in their career or an existing Assistant Headteacher seeking a new challenge.

  • A strong advocate for high-quality teaching and learning, with the ability to support and develop staff to improve classroom practice
  • A resilient and solution-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-challenge environment
  • Experience of leading whole-school or significant areas of improvement (e.g. attendance, behaviour, curriculum, attendance, inclusion or outcomes)
  • A leader who can secure high standards of behaviour and foster a calm, purposeful learning environment
  • Someone who is committed to improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, pupils, families and external partners
  • A team player who values collaboration and contributes positively to the wider Trust
