Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 21 hours per week (3 week rota) Salary: NJC Grade E SCP 12-17 £28,598 - £31,022 pro rata per annum, plus weekend increments and night allowance Closing Date: Wednesday 27th May 2026 at 23:59 We are recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker (Waking Nights) to work 21 hours per week over a three week static rotating rota, supporting children from the age of 5-17 years with a range of disabilities and complex needs. The purpose of the role is to work as part of professional committed team with established management support, providing a homely nurturing environment to young people during the night who are receiving Short term breaks in a Residential Home, whilst giving their parents and carers a break from the caring role. You will support children with complex learning difficulties and a wide range of diagnosis of disabilities, children with communication difficulties, sensory impairments and complex health needs. Challenging behaviors can occur within our setting, so to fully support our children the applicant will need to feel comfortable in the knowledge that situations can arise. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with children and young people, ideally with children with complex needs. This person will be committed to the care and supervision of young people and tending to their individual support needs during unsociable hours. There is an expectation that you will provide factually accurate recordings, which contribute to the service understanding of children's needs and when and where required any evaluation of how best to support them.
