We are seeking skilled, motivated and passionate Team Managers to lead our Supporting Our Children Team, working with children and young people who are in our care. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for an experienced social work professional who is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for children. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of children in our care, is passionate about improving outcomes and promoting stability and belonging for our children. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to supporting reunification and permanency planning where this meets children’s needs.  You should have the ability to inspire, motivate and support social workers and be confident in making child focused decisions. Your values should reflect the Blackpool Families Rock model of practice, keeping children at the heart of everything we do.

The Supporting Our Children Service is a stable team with positive working relationships, a supportive management structure and accessible senior leadership. There is a strong emphasis on quality social work practice and making a real difference to our children’s lives.

 As Team Manager, you will:

  • Provide strong, visible leadership to a stable and well-established team of social workers
  • Ensure high-quality practice for children in our care, keeping their needs, voice and lived experience at the centre of decision-making and involving them and their families and carers in all we do
  • Drive positive outcomes, including permanence planning and reunification where possible
  • Support and develop staff through regular supervision, reflective practice and clear guidance
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure children receive the right support at the right time
  • Maintain oversight of quality, performance and statutory responsibilities
