JOB PURPOSE

To provide highquality administrative, financial and coordination support to regeneration programmes and projects, ensuring effective delivery, strong governance, and compliance with funding and reporting requirements.

The role supports regeneration officers and project managers working on town centre renewal, community economic development, public realm, heritage, and economic development initiatives.

BACKGROUND TO ROLE

Rochdale Development Agency and Rochdale Council have been successful in securing funding from a number of regeneration programmes including Pride in Place, Economic Development and Regeneration Flexible Grants and Towns Fund. In addition new Mayoral Development Corporations have been announced to drive regeneration in Middleton and at Northern Gateway.

These programmes require effective governance, monitoring and management to secure maximum benefit and meet the requirements of funders.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Administrative Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to regeneration projects and programmes
  • Organise meetings, workshops and site visits, including agendas, papers, and minutes
  • Maintain accurate project files, databases and document management systems
  • Manage correspondence with internal services, consultants, contractors, and external partners

Project & Programme Support

  • Assist with the tracking of project milestones, actions, risks and issues
  • Support preparation of reports for boards, members, funders and partners
  • Coordinate and facilitate consultation events and stakeholder engagement activity
  • Support procurement processes, including quotations, tenders, and contract documentation

Financial & Funding Administration

  • Support monitoring of project budgets and expenditure
  • Process invoices and purchase orders in line with financial regulations
  • Assist with funding claims, evidence gathering and audit requirements
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with funding conditions and governance frameworks

Performance & Reporting

  • Collect and maintain performance data and outputs
  • Assist with preparation of regular reporting, including reporting to funders
  • Support preparation of briefings, summaries and presentations

General Duties

  • Liaise with internal and external colleagues and partners
  • Provide cover and support for other staff members as required
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with the role


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Essential

  • Experience in an administrative or project support role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of confidentiality and information governance

Desirable

  • Experience of working in development, regeneration, planning, housing or local government
  • Familiarity with public sector financial procedures or procurement
  • Experience supporting funded programmes or capital projects
  • Knowledge of regeneration funding or grant compliance

Additional Information

  • The role may involve occasional site visits, attendance at evening meetings and working from satellite offices and offices of our partners.
