Teaching Assistant (Specialist Class) Level 3

Grade 4, Scale Point 7-11

Salary £26,403 - £28,142 Full Time Equivalent.

Actual salary will be pro rata: Pro-rata salary: £21,088-£22,477 approx.

32.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday (8.30am 3.30pm, 30 mins unpaid lunch)

Term time only plus INSET

The Headteacher, Governors and Board of Trustees are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-motivated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work as part of the team in our established Resource Provision classroom “The Hive”.

We are looking for someone who:

  • can work under direction from a Class Teacher in order to support teaching and learning.
  • can work with a range of pupils in our 10-place Resource Provision classroom and ensure personalised targets are met in line with guidance from professionals and EHCP documents.
  • has experience of working with children with communication and interaction needs.
  • has the ability to work in small group settings and the skills to support integration in to mainstream classes.
  • is skilled at providing a low-arousal, therapeutic environment and delivering a range of interventions.
  • has the ability to work well in a team and with visiting professionals.
  • has enthusiasm and creativity for engaging children with learning and a passion for improving outcomes for all.
  • can undertake whole class cover during staff absence (arranged or emergency), to ensure that learning opportunities continue and the learning environment is well-managed
  • has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
  • has experience working with children with complex needs, ideally in a specialist classroom/setting.
  • will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community.
