About New Bridge School:

Part of the wider New Bridge Multi Academy Trust (MAT), New Bridge School is an Outstanding generic special needs school for pupils aged 1119 across three sites in Oldham.

We support 380 pupils with a wide range of SEND, including:

  • Moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties
  • Complex needs
  • Autism spectrum condition
  • Physical disabilities
  • Multisensory impairments
  • Every pupil has an EHCP, and our provision is designed to meet diverse needs through a range of specialist pathways and environments.

The Role: Food Technology Teacher

We are seeking an inspirational teacher of Food Technology with the drive, energy and ambition to support a department and culture that promotes subject skills, independence and life skills for all pupils. For the right candidate, there are exciting opportunities to shape the future of the subject and progress into leadership roles within the department as it continues to grow.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and motivated Food Teacher to lead and deliver a curriculum that builds essential life skills, independence and a love of cooking.

Our Food Technology curriculum focuses on:

  • Safe and confident use of the kitchen
  • Nutrition and healthy eating
  • Practical, handson learning
  • Developing independence through reallife skills
  • Preparing a wide range of dishes using varied techniques

We want a practitioner who can bring this curriculum to life with passion, high expectations and a commitment to ensuring every pupilregardless of abilitycan succeed.

The post will be based initially at New Bridge Lower School, Hollinwood, but all staff are employed by the MAT and may work across any New Bridge site.

Salary: Teachers’ Pay Scale + SEN (£2,787 per annum)

Based: Initially at New Bridge School, Roman Road, Hollinwood OL8 3PH

Commencing: September 2026

Status: Permanent
