Dane Bank is a Primary School in Tameside which has approximately 238 pupils. There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in school and close relationships between staff, pupils, and parents. Dane Bank’s aim is for our children to have a rewarding and enriching experience with us, and to leave us equipped to succeed in secondary education. The school is part of the Changing Lives in Collaboration (CLiC) Trust which means we work closely with a group of other schools across Greater Manchester.

The Board of Trustees are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (One to One Support) who is committed and passionate about enabling pupils with additional needs to succeed and is able to provide high quality support. The postholder will be working one to one with a pupil in the current Reception Class with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may also be required to support other learners as needed.

We are looking for someone who:

  • can enable pupils with additional needs to access learning in a mainstream classroom, including offering support with learning, behaviour and intimate care.
  • can deliver specific support to raise the attainment of pupils with additional needs.
  • is able to enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning.
  • is committed to high standards and able to adapt lesson plans and resources to best meet the needs of the individual pupil.
  • has a good knowledge and experience of working with children with complex needs/disabilities.
  • can work independently to deliver, monitor and evaluate the success of interventions.
  • can keep detailed records of progress and attainment.
  • is able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • has excellent communication skills and is committed to building positive relationships with parents, pupils and staff.
  • will be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community.

We can offer you:

  • opportunities for professional development.
  • a supportive working environment in which you will be able to develop your skills in supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • a chance to work with a friendly, welcoming and professional team.

The CLiC Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Visits to the school are welcome if requested.
