HOME is a brand new, not for profit fostering agency based in Salford with a bold mission to do things differently: to remove one of the biggest barriers to people becoming foster carers access to suitable, large houses with sufficient bedroom space. We provide practical and financial support to help incredible people move to bigger homes to enable them to start their fostering journey across Greater Manchester. Foster carers living in larger homes also means that more siblings will be able to live together, nurturing their relationship and connection impacts on their whole lifetime. We offer a wide and comprehensive support offer that is bespoke to each carer and the children that they look after. Our generous financial package offers the allowances for each child and a competitive professional fee for the carer that you would expect and in addition, a grant to help you secure and move in to your new home and support with your rent for as long as you foster with HOME. We also offer a wide range of training to give you all the knowledge, understanding and skills you will need to look after children who need foster families, both online and in person. You'll also receive practical help with things like transport when you need it, a dedicated supervising social worker as well as 24/7 telephone support from the team and regular social events and peer support sessions and activities. Why Choose HOME? We are recruiting now right across all 10 Greater Manchester authorities, looking for would be Foster Carers who can provide more than just good care, they can offer time, patience, understanding, someone who won’t give up on them and a sense of fun and humour. As a newly registered fostering agency with a unique offer, we are starting slowly and carefully to ensure we can offer great support to our first families. Our first intake is limited to six households who will be the first in the UK to be supported (both practically and financially) into new accommodation as part of their fostering journey. Just as the children that we look after are all different, we need foster carers who are different too, there’s no such thing as a perfect foster carer. You don’t need to have any special qualifications but having a good understanding of children and what they need is helpful whether that is through your work, your friends and family or being a parent already.
