The role of Learning Support Assistant focuses on creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Working under the guidance of teachers, you will support pupils in accessing learning, building their confidence and encouraging independence.

You will work with individuals and small groups, provide tailored support (including for those with additional needs), and help maintain a calm and engaging classroom.

The role also includes supporting pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and development, preparing learning resources, and working collaboratively with staff and families to ensure the best outcomes for all children.

You will be someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing and development
• Is able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Demonstrates empathy, understanding and a calm, supportive approach
• Can encourage pupils’ confidence and independence while offering appropriate support
• Works well both independently and as part of a team under the guidance of teachers

The successful candidate will:

• Be confident supporting individuals and small groups, including pupils with additional needs
• Adapt their approach to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
• Help maintain a positive, engaging and well-managed classroom environment
• Be proactive in preparing resources and supporting classroom activities
• Show commitment to promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
