The Interim Executive Board of Moorside Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated teaching assistant who is passionate about supporting children with SEND to enable them to reach their fullest potential.

Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for Level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) to join our vibrant team at Moorside Primary.

As a SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant level 3 you will work with a group of children, providing tailored support and interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning, supporting children to thrive in an educational setting. Experience of working with EYFS/KS1 is essential. The ideal candidate will be skilled in supporting behaviours which challenge, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

You will be responsible for leading one of our ‘Adaptive Provisions’ which support children with Autism and/or SEMH. You will work closely with our SENDCo, the Child and Families Officer and teaching staff to ensure children in the provision receive the highest specialist care to enable them to reintegrate back into their mainstream classroom. As such experience of working with children with SEND and/or Autism is essential. Knowledge of ‘Core Word’, ‘Attention Autism’ and use of PIVATs to track progress is desirable.
