We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant who can build strong, trusting relationships, remain calm under pressure, and deliver high-impact, trauma-informed support. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

Working Pattern: Full-time Your working hours are 35 hours 40 mins per week over 5 days, which will be worked between 8:30 am and 4:20 pm, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 8:30 am and 5:00pm Wednesday and 8.30am and 2:30 pm Friday Term-time plus 5 training days

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support for Pupils

  • Build consistent, trusting relationships with high-needs learners.
  • Deliver proactive and responsive regulation support during dysregulation or crisis.
  • Implement EHCP targets, Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and individualised strategies.
  • Facilitate access to learning by adapting tasks and communication methods.
  • Provide mentoring, modelling, and social development support for pupils.

2. Learning and Curriculum Support

  • Support the delivery of differentiated curriculum content in collaboration with teachers.
  • Use assistive technology, visual supports, and sensory tools to aid access and engagement.
  • Deliver targeted interventions (e.g. Zones of Regulation, SCERTS-based strategies).
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, engagement, and well-being.

3. Environment and Behaviour Support

  • Create and maintain calm, predictable, and safe learning environments.
  • Contribute to individual risk assessments and positive handling plans.
  • Supervise pupils during transitions, break/lunchtimes, and off-site activities.
  • Use restorative and relational practice consistently in line with the school ethos

4. Professional Collaboration and Development

  • Work closely with therapists, SENCO, teachers and behaviour teams.
  • Attend team debriefs, supervision, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Provide informal mentoring to newer or intermediate-level TAs.
  • Participate in CPD linked to SEMH, autism, and therapeutic approaches
