Salary: SFCA Support points 20 24 (£37,734 - £42,081 FTE). Actual salary range for TTO + 2 weeks is £34,274 - £38,223 per annum.

Contract: Permanent - Full Time TTO + 2 weeks

About this Role

As Catering Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the college catering service, managing a dedicated team and ensuring the delivery of fresh, high-quality meals and hospitality services. You will play a key role in menu development, budget management, stock control and continuous service improvement, helping to create a positive dining experience for our college community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the catering team, including recruitment, training and performance management.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals using fresh ingredients.
  • Developing varied and innovative menus that appeal to students and staff.
  • Managing food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships to ensure value for money.
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations.
  • Organising staff rotas and production schedules to ensure an efficient service.
  • Supporting hospitality and corporate events, including occasional evening and weekend functions.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and responding positively to feedback.
  • Contributing to the college's commitment to providing an outstanding experience for all students.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual who:

  • Has hospitality and catering qualifications, including a Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification (or equivalent).
  • Has significant experience in a chef management or catering management role.
  • Has experience planning menus, managing budgets and controlling food costs.
  • Can lead, motivate and develop a catering team to achieve high standards.
  • Has excellent knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, special dietary requirements and allergen management.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
