The governors of the Stalyhill Schools’ Federation are seeking to appoint a Level 1 teaching assistant for a fixed term contract of 1 year (in the first instance).

Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they meet the following key factors for the post in order to be shortlisted for interview.

  • Displays commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • The ability to provide 1:1 support to a child with SEMH needs
  • Support appropriate communication and social interaction through a range of techniques
  • Monitor progress and behaviours, reporting to the teacher, SENCO and relevant parties.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Be patient, resilient, empathetic and demonstrate a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Advocate for the child and form a positive relationships with both the child and family.
  • Carry out small group interventions as directed.
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Able to show initiative.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • The ability to work independently and part of a team including whole school.
  • The ability to interact positively and professionally with pupils, parents and colleagues.
