The Headteacher and Governors of Pikes Lane Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed and proactive teaching assistant (TA3) to join our team from September 2026. This is initially a 12 month fixed position for 35 hours/week.

Successful applicants will be able to:

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, helping pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of the class teacher
  • Demonstrate a secure understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly in English and mathematics
  • Use effective questioning and feedback strategies to promote pupils' progress and independence
  • Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with SEND, adapting support appropriately
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform next steps in learning
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Foster pupils' confidence, resilience, independence and enthusiasm for learning
  • Work collaboratively as part of a large team while also showing initiative and working independently when required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the school community
