‘For a person to ‘grow’, they need an environment that provides them with genuineness (openness and self-disclosure), acceptance (being seen and understood), unconditional positive regards) and empathy (being listened to and understood).

Without these, relationships and healthy personalities will not develop as they should, much like a tree will not grow without sunlight.’

Carl Rogers

  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management
  • The physical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs, taking a non-judgemental approach.
  • Knowledge and experience to support staff in developing excellent classroom practice that fosters positive behaviour for learning
  • The ability to support teaching and learning within an SEMH setting to a dedicated group of students.
  • Understanding, and experience, of developing, and implementing, individual behaviour support plans & positive strategies.
  • The ability to model and encourage appropriate social behaviour in and out of school and to cater for the general welfare of students.
  • The ability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed.
  • Willingness to participate in own professional development
