Small School. Big Heart. Exciting Future.

Stansfield Hall CE/Methodist Primary School is a warm, welcoming and highly inclusive school community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. Guided by our vision of "Let Your Light Shine", we are committed to building successful futures for our children, families and staff.

Following a period of significant school improvement, Stansfield Hall is now proudly judged Good in all areas by Ofsted and has recently secured a highly successful SIAMS inspection. Leaders, governors and staff share a strong ambition to continue building on this success as we enter an exciting new phase in the school's development.

We are seeking an exceptional School Business Manager to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school.

This is not a typical SBM role.

As a small primary school serving just over 100 pupils, our School Business Manager is at the heart of everything we do. You will work closely with the Headteacher, Governors and staff to lead on finance, administration, personnel, health and safety, compliance and operational management. Whilst strategic in nature, the role also requires someone who is willing to be hands-on and involved in the day-to-day running of a busy school office and wider school.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy working autonomously and taking ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Have excellent organisational and financial management skills.
  • Are solutions-focused and resilient.
  • Can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • Value strong relationships and place children at the centre of decision making.
  • Want to make a visible and lasting difference to a school community.

The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time. Alongside a growing nursery provision, the school is preparing to open a new SEMH Resource Provision in 2027, creating further opportunities to develop services, facilities and support for children and families. The School Business Manager will play a central role in helping shape and deliver these developments.

We welcome applications from:

  • Experienced School Business Managers; or
  • Highly experienced school administrators, office managers or finance professionals working within education who understand the breadth and demands of school business management and are ready to take the next step in their career.

In return, we can offer:

  • A genuinely welcoming school community with a strong family ethos.
  • Supportive colleagues and governors.
  • A close working partnership with an ambitious and forward-thinking Headteacher.
  • Opportunities to influence strategic decision making.
  • A role where your contribution will be recognised, valued and make a tangible difference.
  • Access to extensive Local Authority support services and professional development opportunities.

If you are looking for a role where you can combine strategic leadership, operational excellence and a passion for helping a school community thrive, we would be delighted to hear from you.

To apply for this position please download the application form and supporting documentation and send completed applications to office@stansfieldhall.rochdale.sch.uk by 11:59pm on Wednesday, 15th July 2026.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.

Applicants are advised that by applying for this position they are declaring that they are not subject to any immigration controls or restrictions that prohibit them undertaking work in the UK, and that they are able to provide proof of their Right to Work in the UK if they are invited to attend an interview.

The school will carry out an online search as part of their due-diligence for all shortlisted candidates in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
