Pastoral Worker

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic Pastoral Key Worker to join our caring and inclusive primary school community.

This rewarding role involves supporting the emotional wellbeing, personal development and welfare of our pupils, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with children, families, staff and external agencies to provide effective pastoral support and promote positive outcomes for every child.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families.
  • Provide emotional and pastoral support to children experiencing challenges.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support wellbeing, resilience and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team and external professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Promote attendance, engagement and inclusion across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Be committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and safeguarding.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with primary-aged children, ideally in a pastoral or support role.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with children and adults.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
