The Governing Board of St Paul’s CE Primary School and the Headteacher are looking to appoint an Attendance Lead and Family Support.

We are looking for a dedicated professional who will provide a comprehensive and high-quality support service to the school to improve overall school attendance. This role will involve tracking attendance data, addressing attendance-related issues, and implementing strategies to improve attendance rates. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and families and who is committed to ensuring every pupil has the best possible chance to succeed.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading on attendance and working proactively with pupils, families and external agencies to maintain and improve attendance.
Using Department for Education (DfE) guidance and research to implement evidence-based approaches that improve and sustain exceptional levels of school attendance.
Providing support and guidance to families to help overcome barriers to learning and attendance.
Maintaining accurate records and monitoring the impact of interventions.

The ideal candidate will:

Be resilient, proactive and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
Have experience of working with children and families in an educational or support setting.
Understand current DfE attendance guidance and be able to use research and evidence-based practice to drive improvement.
Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
Work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
