We’re recruiting a hands on Information Displays Officer to maintain bus stop and shelter information across Greater Manchester. This is a practical, outdoor role involving the installation, repair and maintenance of passenger information and infrastructure across the transport network. Your Role You’ll work independently across assigned routes, taking responsibility for managing your own workload and planning your day. The role involves responding to changing priorities in a fast paced environment, while carrying out a range of practical tasks including installing, repairing and maintaining information displays. You’ll also interact with customers and members of the public while on site, providing a positive and helpful presence. If you enjoy hands on work, problem solving and being outdoors, and take pride in keeping information clear, accurate and accessible, this role offers variety and the chance to make a visible impact every day. You’ll work Monday to Friday, across shifts between 07:00 and 19:00, based on a 37 hour compressed rota. While no two days are the same, a typical day might include: 07:00 Leave home in your TfGM vehicle, ensuring it is charged, stocked and ready for the day ahead. Review your route, workload and any urgent network updates. 08:00 Arrive at your first locations, installing timetables, maps, bus stop plates and campaign materials while ensuring stops and shelters meet Bee Network presentation standards. 11:00 Carry out inspections, report defects and help customers with journey information when working at busy locations. 12:00 Take a 36 minute meal break whilst on the network before continuing your planned workload. (Meal break timing will vary depending on operational requirements.) 13:00 Respond to urgent changes, damaged displays, and short notice operational requests. No two days are the same. 15:00 Complete your final jobs, update records electronically and ensure network information remains accurate and up to date. 15:36 Finish your shift, top up your vehicle at a designated charging location if required, and get ready for another day supporting the Bee Network. You'll spend your day travelling across Greater Manchester, working outdoors, solving problems and helping ensure passengers have accurate, up-to-date information wherever they travel on the Bee Network. Sitting within Facilities Management, Information Operations is responsible for the upkeep, presentation and reliability of passenger information at bus stops and shelters across Greater Manchester. The team delivers frontline maintenance, repairs and installations, ensuring information and infrastructure are safe, compliant and consistently presented. We also support service changes, disruption management and the daytoday operation of the transport network. This role is rewarding because the impact of your work is immediate and visible.
