Hours: 37 hours per week, worked between 7.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

Make a Difference Across Our Schools


Vantage CE Academies Trust is seeking a skilled, proactive and adaptable Trust Maintenance Officer to help ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming and inspiring environments for pupils, staff and visitors.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to work across our Trust, carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance and site support activities while helping to maintain high standards across our buildings and grounds.

About the Role

No two days are the same. You will work closely with school-based site teams to deliver a wide range of maintenance and facilities support services across Trust sites, including:

  1. General building maintenance and repairs
  2. Plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other practical tasks
  3. Grounds maintenance and external repairs
  4. Supporting health and safety compliance activities
  5. Liaising with and overseeing contractors
  6. Assisting with site security and premises management
  7. Providing cover for school site staff when required
  8. Recording maintenance activities using the Trust's Premises Management System

You will travel between schools, managing your workload effectively to ensure maintenance needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Has experience in practical building maintenance
  2. Has strong DIY and repair skills across a variety of trades
  3. Can identify problems and find practical solutions
  4. Can work independently and manage their own workload
  5. Has excellent attention to detail
  6. Is reliable, flexible and proactive
  7. Holds a full UK driving licence
  8. Has GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent


Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  1. NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent trade qualification
  2. Experience working within a school, academy or public sector environment
  3. Knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements, including COSHH, Legionella and fire safety
  4. Construction, engineering or building maintenance qualifications
