A rewarding opportunity has arisen within Blackpool Children Service’s Family Time Team.

Blackpool Children’s Services  contribute towards ensuring a high quality service  is delivered to Children, Young people and families in Blackpool. As a Family Time worker you will play a key and pivotal role in the lives of those children who are being Looked After on a Voluntary basis, in Care Proceedings or in the Care of the Local Authority, and require continued family time with their family.

The role of a Family Time Worker is to supervise, monitor and support family time between children and families in a variety of setting across Blackpool.

The Family Time team are looking to recruit a motivated individual with a diverse range of skills who is able to:

  • Ensure that family time - is child centred and strengths based so that the child and/or young person gets the most from their time with their families.
  • Support, guide and advise family members around child development and parenting therefore helping them to grow, develop and improve their patterns of parenting and care.
  • Support and empower parents and families to grow their self confidence in a parenting role, promoting and encouraging positive relationships and interactions between families, children and young people.
  • Facilitate positive interaction between family members and children by supporting support families to resolve any behavioural and emotional difficulties displayed by children in the supervised sessions.
  • Build strong working relationships with allocated social workers ,foster carers and families.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Embrace the Blackpool Families Rock ethos, vision and values.
