At Broomwood Primary School, we believe every child deserves to feel that they belong. We are proud of our inclusive ethos and are looking for someone who shares our passion for creating a safe, nurturing and fun environment where children can thrive.

Our after-school club is much more than childcare. It is an extension of our school community where children can relax, play, develop friendships, explore new interests and finish their day feeling happy, valued and cared for.

We are looking for someone who:
genuinely enjoys spending time with children and can build warm, positive relationships;
understands that every child is unique and can adapt their approach to meet individual needs;
is patient, caring and able to support children emotionally as well as practically;
is enthusiastic, energetic and creative, bringing ideas for games, crafts, outdoor activities and opportunities for children to have fun;
values teamwork and is always willing to help colleagues, recognising that everyone plays an important role in supporting our children;
communicates effectively with children, parents and colleagues;
is reliable, organised and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

At Broomwood we value people who:
always put children at the heart of every decision;
work together because we know we achieve more as a team;
show kindness, compassion and respect to everyone;
take the initiative, stepping in to help wherever they see a need;
believe in inclusion and helping every child feel that they belong;
can laugh, have fun and bring positivity to each day.

Your role will include:
providing high-quality care and supervision for children attending the after-school club;
planning and leading engaging indoor and outdoor activities;
encouraging children’s independence, confidence and social development;
supporting children with a range of individual needs, including those with SEND;
preparing and serving light snacks in accordance with food hygiene procedures;
ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times;
working closely with the wider school team to ensure consistency in our caring and inclusive approach.

We can offer:
the opportunity to work within a welcoming and supportive school community;
children who are enthusiastic, caring and full of character;
a committed staff team who genuinely support one another;
opportunities for training and professional development;
a fixed-term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

If you are someone who believes children deserve to finish every school day with smiles, laughter and a sense of belonging, we would love to hear from you.

This school is committed to safeguarding children and young people and expects that all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and prohibition of teaching. Two professional references will also be required.
