MIDDAY ASSISTANT - Required as soon as possible
Band 1, pt 3 £24,796 pro rata
Pattern: Monday Friday 11.30 1.30 pm (10 hours per week, Term Time Only)
Responsible to: Deputy Headteacher and Lunchtime Organiser

JOB PURPOSE
To be responsible, individually or as a member of a team, for securing the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the period of the midday break period in accordance with the practices and procedures of the Local Education Authority.

JOB OUTLINE
The duties will include:
Supervision of the pupils in the dining hall, playground areas and school premises.
Ancillary duties (eg cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean between sittings etc.).
Ensuring the maintenance of good order and discipline.
Dealing with minor accidents to pupils.
Reporting to the Lunchtime Organiser any problem.

All duties must be carried out to comply with:
The Health and Safety at Work Act.
Acts of Parliaments, Statutory Instruments and Regulations and other legal requirements.
Nationally agreed Codes of Practice which are relevant.

All duties to be carried out in the working conditions normally inherent in the job. Duties will be carried out for jobs up to and including those in the same grade, provided such duties are within the competence of the employee.
