We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice LGV Technician to join our vehicle maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification while learning from experienced LGV Technicians and developing a rewarding career in vehicle maintenance.

Based at our depot in Lytham St Annes, you will receive hands-on training maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles that support essential frontline services, including refuse collection, street cleansing, parks, and environmental services.

As vehicle technology continues to evolve, this apprenticeship offers the opportunity to work with modern diagnostic equipment and industry-leading manufacturers while developing the skills and knowledge required to become a fully qualified LGV Technician.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 6:30am – 2:00pm

What You'll Be Doing

Working under the supervision of qualified LGV Technicians and a dedicated mentor, you will:

  • Learn how to safely service, maintain and repair vehicles and equipment.
  • Undertake practical, hands-on training within the vehicle maintenance workshop.
  • Observe and learn fault diagnosis and rectification techniques.
  • Develop skills in repairing both basic and complex vehicle faults.
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance work to industry standards.
  • Participate fully in learning and development opportunities.
  • Attend and successfully complete recognised training courses.
  • Work with leading vehicle manufacturers and industry specialists.
  • Support general workshop maintenance and housekeeping activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn, and committed to developing a career in vehicle maintenance.

You will be able to demonstrate:

Essential Requirements

  • Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
  • A basic understanding of vehicles and plant machinery.
  • Basic ICT skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to undertake a physically demanding role.

Desirable Requirements

  • A full driving licence or currently working towards obtaining one.
