The Governors and Headteacher of Ince CE Primary and Nursey School are seeking to appoint a new SENCO to continue our excellent SEND provision who embodies the Christian vision and values of our school.

Ince CE Primary and Nursery School is a large two form entry primary school in the heart of Ince.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated, innovated professional who has high expectations of themselves, colleagues and pupils, and have the energy and determination to make a difference. They must be a qualified teacher and will be part of the senior leadership team.

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with staff, pupils, parents and governors.
  • Must hold the SENCo qualification.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The SENCO, under the direction of the Headteacher, will:
  • Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school.
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and carers, and other agencies.
  • Maintain an accurate SEND register and provision map.
  • Be accountable for progress and standards according to current SIP priorities.
  • The SENCO will be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD.
