Prestolee Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an organised, proactive and committed Attendance Officer to join our team at The Derby High School. This is a key role within the school, leading our attendance service and working closely with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident working with data and be able to build positive and effective relationships with pupils and families. You will use attendance information to identify concerns, support appropriate interventions and help ensure that the school meets its attendance responsibilities and targets. Our Attendance Officer will play a key part in this, working with pupils, families and colleagues to identify barriers to attendance, provide support and promote positive engagement with school. As Attendance Officer at The Derby High School, you will lead the day-to-day monitoring and management of pupil attendance and punctuality. Working closely with pupils, parents and carers, pastoral and teaching staff, senior leaders, the Local Authority and external agencies, you will: The role also includes a range of attendance-related administrative and statutory responsibilities, including admissions, exclusions, Children Missing Education (CME), Elective Home Education (EHE) and the effective use of the school’s management information systems. Occasional attendance at evening events, including Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings, will be required as part of the role. We are looking for someone who has: Experience of working with young people and families, particularly in relation to attendance and punctuality, would be advantageous. Experience within a school setting, working with external agencies or using attendance or school management information systems such as Bromcom would also be welcomed.
