If you wish to apply for this role, you must seek your manager’s agreement before formally applying We are looking to appoint a qualified and experienced senior internal auditor to provide comprehensive, professionally, independent, timely and accurate advice and conclusions, from the review of complex information, to internal and external customers and clients. This will be a temporary position for 12 months to cover maternity leave. As a Unitary Authority, Blackpool Council provides a diverse range of services to the residents of Blackpool. The internal audit team deliver risk-based and compliance audits to the Council, maintained schools and a number of Council owned companies. The companies include sectors such as housing, leisure, waste and transport. In addition to the work identified in the internal audit plan the team also provide advice and guidance on a wide range of risk and control issues to management including involvement in project groups for significant system changes. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a good communicator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to write reports to a good quality. You will need to be able to deliver work within resource and deadline to an appropriate level which aligns with the Global Internal Audit Standards (UK public sector).
