Hours of work: 4 days 8.00am to 4.00pm with 30min lunch break and 1 day 8.30am to 4.00pm with 30min lunch break

Due to the retirement of the current postholder, the Governors of St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed and highly motivated School Business Manager who shares our passion for improving the lives of young people in our warm and nurturing school community.

We live out our mission statement of, “Growing Together in Faith, Love and Learning,” and this permeates all areas of school life. We have high expectations in all we do and we strive to provide the excellent teaching and learning, care and support that our children deserve.

We are looking to appoint someone to support the Headteacher within the areas of budget, finance and premises; ideally you will be qualified to either CSBM or DSBM level.

To be a successful member of our team we are looking for someone who will:

  • Contribute towards the caring and inclusive nature of our school;
  • Enable successful teaching and learning across the school through supporting the Headteacher, Governors, School Leadership Team (SLT), staff and pupils;
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school’s financial, administrative, personnel, premises, health & safety, business, IT and support services, alongside day-to day operational aspects;
  • Work with the Headteacher to identify priorities and contribute to strategic planning in-line with the school’s development plans;
  • Manage administrative and supporting personnel;
  • Attend Governors’ meetings when required to report on finance and business.
  • Work flexibly to meet the changing demands and priorities;
  • Actively safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of all our pupils at all times.
  • Work collaboratively in a team or use your own initiative;
  • Be self-organised and able to prioritise and manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.

Essentials for this role include:

  • A highly skilled Governing Board who believe passionately in St. Bernadette’s.
  • To have a high level of experience implementing and using a range of software packages including Arbor, word and excel;
  • Previous supervisory/line management experience;
  • NVQ Level 5, or equivalent, in Finance/Business/Administration;
  • Knowledge of administrative/financial processes.
