Friezland Primary School is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our school team.

Our lunchtime team has a particularly important role. For our children, lunchtime is not simply about serving a meal it is part of their school day, and we want it to be a positive, enjoyable and well-organised experience.

We are therefore looking for someone who will take pride in helping us provide a high-quality catering service for our pupils and who will bring a positive and caring approach to the role.

About the role:

  • Working as part of our catering team, you will help with the preparation, setting up and serving of school meals and support the smooth running of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • The role will include preparing and serving food, cleaning kitchen equipment and dining areas, following food hygiene and health and safety procedures, and helping to create a welcoming lunchtime environment for our children.
  • You will work under the direction of the Catering Manager and alongside other members of the school team.

  • is organised and able to work efficiently during a busy lunchtime period;
  • understands the importance of excellent hygiene and health and safety;

  • genuinely enjoys being part of a school community.
  • experience of working in catering or a school environment would be welcomed, but just as important to us is finding someone with the right attitude, warmth and commitment to our children.
