This is an exciting opportunity to join Blackpool’s Public Health team, which is being expanded to help achieve the Council’s vision of supporting a happy and healthy community, and build its recovery from the impact of COVID-19.
We are seeking to appoint a full time, Senior Public Health Intelligence Analyst on a fixed term basis. Requests for part time hours or job share will be considered as will remotely working.
This is a new post that will support the Principal Epidemiologist and will work closely with colleagues across the Public Health Team and other Council services. You will collate, analyse, interpret and present public health information to support Public Health programmes, initiatives, local and national policy and Council priorities.
You will have highly developed analytical skills, to interpret and present complex and/or sensitive information clearly in a variety of forms. It is also essential that you have experience of using statistical techniques, analysing large complex databases, working with multiple sets of data, interpreting requirements and responding to complex enquires.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with experience in disseminating information via written reports and presentations to a range of professional and lay audiences.
You will hold a relevant degree or professional qualification, or an equivalent level of experience in a similar role.

This is a temporary post for up to 18 months. Requests for part time hours or job share will be considered as will remotely working.

This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
