Tonge Moor Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (SEND) to provide 1:1 and small group support. The candidate must have experience in supporting pupils who display a range of needs including being on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder, presenting with social and emotional difficulties and cognition and learning needs.

The candidate needs to:

• Provide 1:1 support for children on the Autistic Spectrum with associated cognition and learning difficulties.
• Provide support for other children with additional needs throughout school;
• Have had or be willing to receive ELKLAN training;
• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children of Primary School age or NVQ2 or equivalent in teaching assistance;

• Have high expectations for all children;
• Work as part of an effective team;
• Have the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration and demonstrate concern for their development as learners;
• Have excellent standards of written and spoken English;
• Be prepared to contribute to all aspects of school life.
