Newlands is a generic Primary Special school for 120 pupils aged 3-11, co-located with a mainstream Primary School.

We are looking for a multi-talented Deputy Head who is kind, inspirational and reflective. Applications are invited from experienced candidates who have excellent knowledge and understanding of children with SEND and the skills to work collaboratively within our large and enthusiastic team.

The role includes a wide range of responsibilities and challenges, with opportunities to lead and shape positive change. As a non-classed based Deputy Head, the role includes proactive support of teaching and learning, so that together with parents and other professionals we can ensure that our children secure the very best outcomes possible, linked to our School Mission – “We Can and We Do”

Visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact our friendly Office Team if you would like to visit us on Tuesday 3rd March. We are limiting visits to one day so that we are not creating too much disruption for our pupils, but are happy to arrange tours of school at a time to suit you.

The interview process will include a visit to see you in your current setting on either 16, 17 or 18th March. Interviews will take place on 19th March here at Newlands.

To apply for this position please download the application form and supporting documentation and send completed applications to vacancies@newlands.rochdale.sch.uk by 12:00pm on Tuesday 10th March 2020

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
