The Governing Board of Brownhill Learning Community(BLC) is seeking to appoint a Curriculum Lead English: teacher to have a strategic overview of the English Curriculum for all BLC learners

The Brownhill Learning Community is a federation of Brownhill Special School and the Pupil Referral Service who work together to provide education provision for school aged learners with social, emotional and mental health needs who are out of the mainstream environment.

There are four sites currently across Rochdale and learners are placed at a specific site according to their needs.

Our aim is to identify and meet individual learning needs through a nurturing environment. We are looking for candidates that are dynamic, inspirational and can motivate children with significant challenges.

The successful candidate would have the oversight and strategic lead of the English curriculum offer to all BLC learners. They would work under the guidance of the Deputy Head (Curriculum). Other BLC teaching staff would deliver an English curriculum to BLC learners under the guidance of this English Curriculum Lead

This is an ideal post for someone who wants to lead on English and make a difference to the most challenging and vulnerable learners in the Borough

Experience of working with challenging learners is desirable and in a Primary and/or Secondary setting

The successful candidate will be required to commence in September 2024 in post or as soon as possible.
