1-1 Teaching Assistant

Salary Grade: NJC Scale 3, Point 6 £23,893 actual pro rata (£17,398)

Hours of Post: 31.5 hours per week, 44.6 weeks

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31st August 2025

Start Date of Post: Monday 2nd September 2024

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Teaching Assistant who will support a child in Early Years with additional needs to join our talented and supportive Early Years team. You should be a constructive and self-motivated person who loves working with children and helping them to strive for their best.

Children will be at the heart of your work. You must be able to demonstrate that you understand the importance of educating the whole child, that you want the very best for them and are prepared to put their needs first.

The successful candidate will need to be a confident role model with high expectations of the child in your care. Our pupils are at the centre of everything we do and when we were inspected by Ofsted in January 2022, not only did we receive a ‘good’ grade, but they commented on our focus on developing positive relationships and our inclusive nature.

We would really like to meet you, if you enjoy working with children and have the ability to inspire learning and support development. You should have a high standard of general education with good numeracy and literacy skills.  You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, good sense of humour and be friendly and approachable. Experience of working with children, good time management and the ability to work flexibly using your own initiative are essential.

All applications will be considered and while SEN experience would be an advantage, it is not essential as relevant training will be given to the right candidate.

The main focus of the role is to provide 1:1 support to children with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:

•           Supporting children in achieving their own personal targets in English, Maths and across all areas of the curriculum

•           Following a 1:1 timetable

•           Feeding back to the class teacher, maintaining records of progress and behaviour

•           Working with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural, personal care or medical needs

•           Liaising with parents and external professionals

We can offer a welcoming team of staff who all care about the school and providing the best possible learning environment for the children.

The application forms are available to download from here. Completed forms should be returned to the school via email to schooladmin@calegreen.stockport.sch.uk  or posted to the school address above.
