Are you a Rail or Light Rail Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) Engineer or Electrification & Plant (E&P) Engineer seeking an opportunity to make a real difference, transforming assets, on an exciting, dynamic transport network? Would you relish the opportunity to contribute across a range of multi- disciplinary engineering projects in delivering Metrolink Renewal and Enhancement projects?

We currently have a permanent opportunity for a Project Engineer with a background in E&M / E&P to work on the Renewals and Enhancements programme of works. In this role you will be involved in projects that range from complex full system renewals to upgrading junction controllersCurrent and future projects that you can expect to be working on include the design, installation, test and commissioning of new substations and also significant upgrade works to the traction return system on large parts of the Metrolink network.

As a Project Engineer at Transport for Greater Manchester you will join our Metrolink Engineering team to deliver capital projects across the networkYou will be involved with writing specifications, reviewing tenders, overseeing designs, and providing some site assurance. You will also support and lead the management of technical interfaces, particularly with our Operator. 

You will be educated to degree level in engineering or equivalent and have experience in delivery of engineering projects in the light or heavy rail industries together with demonstrable experience managing technical interfaces with differing engineering disciplines. 

The salary for this role is £46,249 - £51,576 per annum.
