In Tameside we want to achieve the best outcomes for our Looked after Children and Care Leavers. In order to support this goal there has been significant investment into the service to create additional capacity. Part of the investment has been to secure a full time permanent Service Unit Manager post for our Leaving Care Service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and driven Service Unit Manager to lead our Leaving Care Service on a permanent basis.
A number of exciting changes and developments are taking place within our Leaving Care Service as we are committed to delivering on our local offer and to also work with our partners on improving the offer to care leavers.
You will need to ensure that the service is working towards our vision to providing an aspirational service to our care leavers and are able to work flexibly and creatively in order to achieve this. You will need to be committed to providing the best possible outcomes for care leavers and ensure that our offer is being applied.
You will be responsible for managing 2 Team Manager’s (Leaving Care Team & Transition Support), whilst driving the necessary changes within the service.
Our service is also absolutely committed to the 7 Corporate Parenting principles and the successful candidate will continue to ensure these principles are embedded across our service delivery and that the voice of young people is at the centre of all our planning processes and our service improvements.
