The role
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking to expand their SEND department with the hire of a SEND Team Manager. The post-holder will operationally manage a dedicated team of SEND Case Officers, undertaking the statutory assessment process and placement of children and Young People with an Education, Health and Care Plan (in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice 2015).
Following a joint visit from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission in October 2021, a Written Statement of Action (WSoA) was implemented. Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council are ambitious in their SEND improvement journey, we recognise the challenges ahead yet remain committed to improve the support we provide to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
