School Governor

Are you interested in being a Governor in Rochdale?

We are currently looking to fill a number of Governor roles throughout schools within the Rochdale Borough. Being a Governor is a rewarding and effective way of making a voluntary contribution to your community and to the lives of young people. Governors are appointed by the Governing Board and are the strategic leaders in schools.

Are you:

• Keen to put something back into the local community?
• Interested in education?
• Prepared to work as part of a team
• Open to new ideas and ready to learn?
• Enthusiastic?
• Comfortable in asking questions?
• Do you have the time to get to know your school and attend meetings?
• Prepared to represent and promote your school?

Then you could be a School Governor in Rochdale.

Time commitment:

• attendance at a termly board meeting
• attendance at committee meeting/s
• undertaking link governor responsibilities
• spending time working with school and attending school events (where appropriate)

You will be supported in your school by your Headteacher and fellow Governors; you will have access to support from the Local Authority Governor Support Team and access to training through the REAL Trust.
