Your Role

As our Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial records, statutory financial statements and highquality external reporting for TfGM. You’ll provide expert technical accounting advice, support smooth and professional audit processes, and ensure compliance with the latest financial accounting standards. Who are we?

Our Financial Shared Services team provides the strong financial foundations needed to deliver the Bee Network and support Greater Manchester’s wider transport ambitions. We manage financial records, statutory reporting, technical accounting, audit coordination and compliance for TfGM and a range of partners, ensuring public funds are used responsibly, transparently and in line with regulatory requirements.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical expertise, analytical thinking and excellent attention to detail. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience of using computerised accounting systems, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong technical accounting experience, including uptodate knowledge of financial accounting standards relevant to TfGM.
  • Experience of working with external parties, particularly auditors and financial institutions.
  • A high level of accuracy in preparing financial analysis, statements and supporting working papers.
  • A full professional accounting qualification (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA or ACCA).

This is a permanent role with a salary of £49,060-£54,558
