As a member of the dynamic Public Health Senior Leadership Team, managed by a Public Health Consultant, the post-holder will provide strategic leadership to develop, use and share high-quality public health intelligence across the service and the wider Council. You will be an advocate and leader for better use of data, insight and evidence in our decision-making. The successful candidate will develop our existing Public Health intelligence function, building close working relationships with the Council's business intelligence service and the local health and care system. They will provide quality around epidemiology, statistics, and needs assessments. They will also drive improvements in the systems, processes and tools that underpin intelligence work, including managing changes to adopt more advanced analytical tools and approaches. We are looking for someone with substantial experience of working with health and/or local authority data and intelligence to influence within and across systems, with an understanding of the public health context. A relevant qualification and experience interpreting complex data would be preferred. You will have excellent communication and influencing skills and the confidence to lead across organisations and to manage and develop the Public Health intelligence team. This is an important time for Public Health at the apex of reforms in the NHS and within various Council responsibilities affecting children and adults. You will need to be ready to adapt and work with the Senior Leadership Team and partners to ensure Public Health is understood and our Business Plan priorities progress.
