Your role:

As a Tree and Asset Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting the Council’s tree stock across parks, highways, cemeteries and open spaces. You will carry out safety and quality inspections of parks, highways and open spaces, as well as monitoring litter and detritus standards. You will ensure all inspections comply with current British Standards and relevant legislation, maintaining accurate records and raising work orders where needed. You will support the development of key strategies, provide quotes for tree work, and work closely with stakeholders, agencies and contractors to resolve site issues, support improvements and provide expert advice.

About you:

• Willingness to undertake training in relation to tree inspections and park inspection systems
• Experience of carrying out tree inspections and quality inspections
• A full driving licence
• Experience of interpreting plans and working drawings, including interpretation of customer specifications and reactive work instruction
• Effective written and oral communication skills together with the ability to deal with clients/management/ workforce and members of the public, including the ability to supervise, co-ordinate, communicate and negotiate with outside agencies
• Ability to work under pressure and to work to tight time deadlines and to make decisions
