Working Pattern: Full Time Working Arrangement: Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford M32 0TH will be the office base but the role is hybrid, so there will be some working from locations across the Borough and from home. Trafford Council is proud to be part of the Greater Manchester Empty Homes and Leasing Programme, a collaborative initiative focused on bringing vacant properties back into meaningful use for local people. We are looking to recruit two motivated Surveyors who will play a key role in securing 16 properties across Trafford for use as Temporary Accommodation. In this role, you will use empty homes intelligence to identify suitable properties, meet with owners, assess condition and repair needs, and negotiate agreements that support the programme’s goals. You will manage the full journey from initial identification through to occupation including all reporting and grant requirements necessary to support successful delivery. This is a 12month fixed term contract, with the potential to extend for a further two years. You will report to the Principal Estates Surveyor and work as part of the wider Estates team, collaborating closely with colleagues in Housing and Housing Standards. You will have a degree plus relevant professional qualification. In addition you should have knowledge and understanding of commercial property management and experience of working with the public, community and private sectors. You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home, in the office or from project sites around the Borough. You will be required to drive in this role.
