Salary: Grade I. Scale 35 - £46,142 to Scale 39 - £50,269 with a professional bar at SCP 37 £48,226**

Base Location: Tameside One, Ashton-under-Lyne

The Role

We are looking for a childcare lawyer to join our well regarded, friendly team to work with us in providing high quality advice and representation in a varied and interesting range of child protection matters including pre proceedings, care proceedings, applications relating to deprivation of liberty, adoption and discharge of care orders.

About You

We are looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister with rights to conduct litigation, or a CILEX professional qualification with litigation rights who is registered with the relevant professional body and who has experience of childcare law.

You need to be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with strong organisational skills able to manage your own caseload.

The successful candidate will need to be a team player keen to work with colleagues and partners to support the council in its ambition to achieve improved outcomes for the children of Tameside
