Your role: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Web team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving online content and services on the Wigan Council website, intranet and sub-sites. You will handle multiple-tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced role dealing with a constant flow of priority requests from council wide services. You will engage with our users, ensuring that they help shape the online services which they access, building services which are easy to use and meet their needs. Using best practice to improve customer experience, you’ll ensure that we provide accessible and a reliable source of information and advice. About you: You will ideally have experience of working with our residents to help them get online and have a good understanding of the Council’s digital agenda. You will have the ability to communicate on a variety of levels, considering best approaches and making recommendations for improvement. You will have experience of inputting and extracting data and have a keen eye for detail. The ability to raise issues, take ownership of problems and actively seek and implement solutions. You will actively promote the benefits of using online services to help build self-reliance and ensure that our services are inclusive to support our customer’s needs. You can work in a fast-paced environment, taking an iterative and flexible approach to rapid delivery.
