In the role of Tenancy Support Officer, you will provide support to vulnerable clients within their own homes by empowering the client with the skills to lead an independent life within the community to be able to maintain their tenancy. You will also be expected to provide a comprehensive support assessment, a holistic support plan and review meetings to clients who come from a variety of challenging client groups including, but not limited to, homeless singles and families with complex needs, people fleeing or experiencing domestic abuse, care leavers aged 16-17 years old and Rough Sleepers. We want someone with 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role delivering homelessness prevention, resettlement and housing-related support services with proven experience of working within a multi-functional team, with partners to deliver a range of services to a diverse community. We also want people with experience of successfully meeting individual set targets for key tenancy support areas, including tenancy sustainment, financial inclusion, health, education and employment, safeguarding and delivering homelessness prevention, resettlement and housing related support services. You must have the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports and an understanding of financial control principles and procedures. Experience in dealing with vulnerable customers and customers who may display challenging and disagreeable behaviour is preferable, with the ability to adapt to change and challenges in a positive manner. Drive, determination and excellent relationship skills are also important so if you think you have what we’re looking for then please apply. You must be proficient in the use of IT software packages, including databases and the use of spreadsheets, inputting and calculating with accuracy and be able to communicate effectively with clients either verbally or in writing and to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels. We are looking for someone with the ability to work independently under pressure and to plan and prioritise own workload to meet own and team deadlines and changes in priority, with the ability to draft standard and non-standard documentation using corporate templates, reports and spreadsheets, accurately, efficiently and with minimal supervision. You must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative, including the ability to respond independently to unexpected problems and situations.
