Assistant Educational Psychologist (x4) Full time Soulbury Assistant Educational Psychology Scale (2-5) Plus casual Car users allowance Fixed term/ temporary 12 months Salford Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is looking for talented Assistant Educational Psychologists to support the development of our innovative service, to start in September 2026. About the team: We have an established service that has high expectations of practitioners, but also provides a positive and innovative working environment, where decisions are made as a team and everyone’s contribution is valued. This is an exciting time for the service as we are involved in influencing and shaping the wider SEND support systems, specifically around supporting our mainstream schools to meet the needs of vulnerable children. We wish continue to develop as a service and to continue to meet the ever changing needs of our community. Salford EPS have an influential role in the development and implementation of council policy and strategy and is highly valued. We have good links across Greater Manchester and with the University of Manchester. About the role: The role of the Assistant Educational Psychologist is to provide support to the service to meet the Psychological needs of the educational network in Salford (0-25 years) and beyond. This is a role where you will be working in schools with staff, children and families on a daily basis. You will be expected to deliver training to teachers and Teaching Assistants (TAs). You will be able to : Support the team to deliver on commissioned projects and deliver on its statutory duty regarding the SEND / EHCP assessment process. Deliver and evaluate training and development opportunities for front line staff. Co-ordinate, summarise and feedback on a range of evaluation exercises including the annual impact of the service data gathering. Represent the service in a range of forums to promote the key messages of the team and develop and disseminate resources. Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50. If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years whilst aged 18 or over, please refer to the link below for details for how to obtain your Certificates of Good Character.
