DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use. 

The Ten-Year Leasing Team is based within the wider Rents and Property Management service 

The team focuses on expanding our temporary accommodation stock within Manchester City Council boundaries. In turn reducing out of city placements, reducing costly emergency accommodation placements, and rebalancing the relatively concentrated geography of Temporary Accommodation to more city-wide distribution. 

The Ten-Year Leasing team at full capacity will consist of 2 leasing officers, and 2 leasing inspections officers, supporting the Homeless Lead Officer 

Leasing Officers will be primarily office-based, playing a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the Ten-Year Leasing Team. They will be responsible for managing a wide range of enquiries and undertaking detailed administrative tasks to support the acquisition and management of our temporary accommodation stock. Through handling complex paperwork, maintaining accurate records, and responding to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, they will ensure high-quality service delivery to expand and effectively manage accommodation for residents experiencing homelessness. 

The role is designated casual car user, having access to a car and a full UK Driving License would be useful but is not required.  

You may be expected to visit our properties as part of this role, if you do not have a car you will have to utilise public transport. 

Primary responsibilities of the role: 

    • Establishing and maintaining partnerships with a range of stakeholders, such as accommodation providers, various homelessness teams, and our tenants. 
      • The production of accurate documentation with a high level of attention to detail. 

      • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring all key service performance data is correct, complete, and reliable. 

      • Reviewing and verifying invoices for accuracy, ensuring charges are correct and align with agreed terms. 

    • Coordinating deliveries of furniture, and installation of flooring, and window coverings.

    2.  In homelessness services and local authorities, accurate information is critical. Can you provide an example where you managed detailed records or documentation? How did you ensure accuracy and why is this important for service users?
    3.  Please tell us about your understanding of temporary accommodation and the challenges local authorities face in managing it?

We would love to hear from you if you have experience of: 

    • An understanding of the causes and effects of homelessness, and the problems faced by homeless people 
      • Ability to work jointly and co-operatively with co-workers and other professionals 

      • Experience of working with homeless people or working with other vulnerable groups or working in a property management setting. 

      • An accountable and responsible team member able to organise, prioritise, take the initiative, work unsupervised and make informed decisions. 

      • Ability to read, interpret, explain and implement various policies, initiatives and legislation. 

      • Must consent to and apply for an enhanced DBS check 

    • Must be willing to undertake Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) qualification. 

 

The experience below would be beneficial but is not essential: 

    • Ability to collate information and data into reports to assist the team’s performance management. 
    • Basic Information Technology skills. A basic standard of numeracy, consistent with the ability to calculate rent account balances for example
