Transport for Greater Manchester is leading the delivery of the Bee Network, creating an integrated public transport system that puts passengers first. As part of our Bus Services Directorate, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Bus Performance Manager to help manage the performance of Greater Manchester’s franchised bus network, work closely with franchisees, and drive continuous improvement so services are delivered reliably and efficiently for customers across the city-region.

Your Role

As Bus Performance Manager, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving the performance of Greater Manchester’s franchised bus network, working closely with franchisees and internal teams to support reliable, efficient and customer-focused services.

You will monitor on-road, revenue and patronage performance, maintaining detailed route-level knowledge to identify underperformance and support action plans that drive improvement. You will also act as the main point of contact between TfGM and each franchise, helping to ensure performance issues are understood, addressed and followed through.

What you’ll bring

You will have significant experience in the public transport sector and a demonstrable ability to analyse KPIs, patronage and revenue data, using insight to formulate action plans that support strong service delivery and overall performance. Experience of replicating good quality performance would also be beneficial. You should possess a strong track record of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders, as well as elected members. You will also have the ability to interpret complex contractual requirements and, ideally, experience of working on high-profile projects.

This is a permanent role with a salary of £61,586 - £69,319 per annum depending on skills and experience.
