Contract: Full-Time. Permanent. 32.5hours per week, working Monday to Friday 8:30-3:30pm with 30 minutes lunch-break.

Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)

Actual salary range: Grade E (SCP 11-16) £28, 142 - £31, 525 (FTE)

Gee Cross Holy Trinity Primary School and Nursery has a fantastic opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and hard-working Level 3 Teaching Assistant with Forest School qualifications to join our dedicated team of staff. This role is ideal for those who genuinely have a passion for helping children within a primary setting through alternative methods of teaching.


What does the role involve? The main aim of this role is to support our teachers to deliver academic excellence, day in, day out, with professionalism and enthusiasm. This will involve providing a comprehensive support service to the school including:

  • Leading the Forest School programme by planning, preparing and delivering purposeful and productive activities for children under Forest School guidelines and relevant risk assessments.
  • Assisting pupils with their educational and social development, on an individual and group basis and providing support inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
  • Work together with families and other agencies to ensure every pupil is valued, challenged and supported
  • Have the highest expectation that every pupil will make sustained academic and personal progress

The successful candidate will also provide class cover during Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, Senior Leadership Time etc.

Each and every member of staff, regardless of their position or seniority, is expected to participate in the overall running of the school and to act as a positive role model for our students. In and out of the classroom you will encourage and promote positive behaviour and effectively manage any situation that threatens to impact on the progress of other students.

You will be expected to be well organised and flexible with high expectations of attainment, achievement and behaviour and have a drive to make a difference to the education of all pupils. You will have excellent communication skills and evidence of continued professional development.
