An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our exceptional EYFS team at St Stephen’s, starting in January 2027.

We are seeking a passionate, inspirational and dedicated EYFS Lead to become part of our highly regarded and fully subscribed school community.

At St Stephen’s, we embrace the core principles and values of early learning, providing a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to develop their confidence, curiosity and independence. Our EYFS provision is well resourced and complemented by exceptional outdoor spaces, including our very own working allotments, providing wonderful opportunities for children to learn through exploration and first-hand experiences.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and a genuine passion for supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey. You will have a strong understanding of child development and be committed to creating engaging, purposeful learning experiences that enable every child to flourish and reach their full potential.

As EYFS Lead, you will play an important role in developing and maintaining high-quality provision, supporting colleagues and working collaboratively with staff across the school. You will be confident in using your knowledge and expertise to promote excellent practice, while ensuring that the needs, interests and individual developmental journeys of all children remain at the heart of our provision.

We are looking for someone who is creative, flexible and reflective, with a positive approach and a great sense of humour. Above all, we are looking for a practitioner who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to ensuring that every child gets the very best start to their school journey.

St Stephen’s is a thriving two-form entry school with a strong sense of community and a culture of collaboration and professional support. We value the contribution of every member of our team and are committed to creating an environment in which staff and children can thrive together.

Our exceptional outdoor provision and extensive grounds provide endless opportunities for outdoor learning and developing children’s curiosity about the world around them. From exploring our allotments to taking part in themed days and practical, hands-on experiences, there are countless opportunities to make learning memorable and meaningful. We even have our very own Manchester Bee!

We are proud to offer high-quality and engaging professional development opportunities, supporting colleagues to develop their practice, leadership skills and career progression.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. We would be delighted to show you our EYFS provision in action, introduce you to our wonderful children and staff, and share more about what makes St Stephen’s such a special place to work and learn.
